What is Anger?

Anger – Everybody experiences anger. Some people may not realize that they are angry, like a kid whose toy has been snatched up by adult or other kids. How do we experience or express our anger? Sometimes, we express by harsh words, shouting, cursing or even physical beating (abusing). But, how do we feel inside? We feel ruptured at soul, ruptured at mind, we get heat at physical level, our breathing becomes heavier. We tend, not to think logical. We try to find ways to exhaust fumes out of our bodies. This is how we feel.

You might have heard about anger management. What do you mean by anger management? Do we manage our anger? We channel it certain way or at certain people, is that called management? Anger management teaches you how to suppress anger. Suppressing is not an answer. You need to eradicate some triggering events or change the outcome of these triggering events. How do you do it?

Lets’ take an example before attempting to control or get rid of anger.

It was a snowy day; it snowed for majority of the day. Next day, sun came out and melted some snow. Now, here on the surfaces where there is not much activity; will have black ice. Black ice is a thin layer of ice formed on the road, almost invisible in color, making it appear as regular road. Now, when you walk on the black ice, you will skid; can not stop at desired place; or even go out of control and finally fell down. This happens because, there is no friction between you and the road, ice is in between. Anger does the same thing to you. You lose control over yourself, you slip your tongue, and you can not stop your frustration, or even go out of control of yourself to physically abuse the other person.

Here is how you can control anger. When you are not angry, try to create a chat with you and an imaginary person. You know what triggers your anger. Try to simulate the same situation in your imaginary drama. See, how you feel, you really are turned on now. Now, take a deep breath and find ways not to express this anger in your mind. You will find several methods and ways on how not to behave the same way as you did in the past. Do not think that you will start using mind to plan out the anger before doing this practice; in a real life situation. This practice will give you the control over anger. Practice makes man perfect. Over a period of time, all the nuances and triggering events which cause your anger will melt away like ice in the sun. To do practice you need to put in the effort as any thought is energy and drains out your levels, including this mental drama. If you can not practice or postpone doing it, then you have what is called mental laziness. Only a decision can remove mental laziness.

So, take a decision, control your anger and start living life again!
